OVERVIEW
The Labor Compliance Program administers the SFUSD's labor compliance policies for public works contracts under the authority of:
  • The Board of Education
  • Title 8 of the California Code of Regulations
  • California Labor Code
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
The Program:
  • Ensures that SFUSD is in compliance with District and State labor compliance requirements
  • Provides guidance to contractors during the pre-bid and post-award process in understanding the labor compliance requirements
  • Audits labor compliance documentation to ensure the proper payment of prevailing wages per the California Labor Code
  • Performs LCP procedures as required by the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement download

This portal is a reference website for contractors, both pre-bid and post-award, seeking labor compliance information and tools

SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS
The requirements for labor compliance are prescribed by law and include:
  • Payment of prevailing wages
  • Posting prevailing wages at the job site
  • Employment of registered apprentices
  • Certification of electricians (as recommended by the Division of Apprenticeship Standards)
  • Maintaining and submitting certified payroll records and supporting audit documents
