 SFUSD- Research Application

Please click this link to read SFUSD's COVID-19 Guidance for Researchers.

Prior to completing their application, all researchers interested in conducting research in SFUSD should consult our Guideline to Conducting Research
, which now includes:
     * Research Study Application
     * Renewal or Amendment Form
     * Data Request

Please note that we will not be reviewing any applications from mid-June to mid-August. Please anticipate a review period of 8 weeks before a decision can be made on your study. Given the shelter in place throughout California, our review timeline may be slightly longer than 8 weeks.

Any researchers who are anticipating starting data collection before October 15 should submit their application by March 15.

Note to Researchers: The State of California ended the use of the California Standards Tests (CST) during the 2012-2013 school year, and has started using the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) online assessments.  Consequently, research projects will not have access to CST scores as those assessments are no longer being administered.  If you have further questions, please send an email to research@sfusd.edu or feel free to call our office at 415-241-6454.

 Data Conversation Resources

Click HERE to access resources to help support your school community in having meaningful conversations about data concerning your school site. We should all take advantage of data to help improve our schools. These resources were developed for the SSC Summit workshop, “Where do we focus? Accessing Understanding and Using Data to Shape Your Goals and BSC” on March 2, 2013.

 Smarter Balanced

The Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) is a state-led consortium developing assessments aligned to the Common Core State Standards in English language arts/literacy and mathematics that are designed to help prepare all students to graduate high school and to be college- and career-ready. California is a member of this consortium.
