 Smarter Balanced

The Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) is a state-led consortium developing assessments aligned to the Common Core State Standards in English language arts/literacy and mathematics that are designed to help prepare all students to graduate high school college- and career-ready. California is a member of this consortium and it is anticipated that students in California will be required to take the SBAC assessments in the spring of 2015.

 SFUSD- Research Application

All researchers interested in conducting research in SFUSD must complete the Application to Conduct Research in the SFUSD, which now includes:
     * Research Study Application
     * Survey Application
     * Data use agreement (DUA)

Note to Researchers about Changes in State Testing (Spring 2014):
As many of you are aware, the State of California ended the use of most of California Standards Tests (CST) during the 2013-2014 school year, and is field-testing the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) online assessments.  Consequently, research projects approved for conducting research in SFUSD during the 2013-2014 school year will not have access to CST scores as those assessments are no longer being administered.  If you have further questions, please send an email to Jan Link at linkj@sfusd.edu or feel free to call our office at 415-241-6516.

The application deadline is March 15, 2014 for research to be conducted in the 2014-15 school year.
