SBRC Survey for Teachers

After discussion with the UESF Elementary Committee, SFUSD has put together a Task Force to review and provide guidance on revisions to the TK-5 Standards Based Report Cards.  The Task Force has defined the purpose of the SFUSD K-5 SBRC as follows: to provide a concise and periodic tool for communication among teachers, families and students that includes comprehensible information about a child’s social emotional development, academic development and unique assets.  In an effort to make this tool useful to teachers and families while serving the above purpose, feedback from both groups is essential.  Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your experience with the SBRCs.

 Over The past few decades, a common offender has taken root in the minds of people. A belief is that Yoga, is all about exercise and fitness. An added offender is that Yogasanas (or Asanas) are simply body movements and poses which are complicated to perform however make the body supple.

  In the West, Somewhere around the 19th Century and 20th Century, Indians introduced Yoga to the folks, so they too may benefit from it. It was a success as expected. So as to make it even more appealing to the public, but there started a commercialization of yoga. Yoga went from having an art.
  This is to Know, is very dangerous. Yoga is not something that should be done with intentions or the ideas. It has consequences of its own.
  Yoga is a way of life. It's not a ritual It is a habit that you makes a part of life. The ultimate aim of Yoga is to attain liberation or Moksha. But yoga has a huge impact on our lives.
  Five fundamental principles of Yoga
  • Asana (postures)
  • Pranayama (Breathing control)
  • Shavasana (Relaxation)
  • Sattvic (Proper Diet)
  It When yoga is performed by a person, he surrenders himself and becomes one with the universal energy. It is a powerful source of life and shouldn't be treated.
  Let us look at some aspects of yoga.
  Schools of Yoga
  In There are the kinds. Please note, here doesn't speak about bearings. Yoga is in fact a practice. It is a means of life, as I mentioned previously. These schools of yoga proved consequently, part of lifestyle.
  1. Jnana Yoga
  Jnana Means'understanding' . From the ancient times, when there was a method of'Gurukul' (students stayed with teachers and obtained knowledge), this was the initiation of this pupil into education and the kingdom of knowledge. The teachings comprised advice about everything under the sun. This Jnana yoga became the basis for yogic knowledge and understanding.
  2. Bhakti Yoga
  Bhakti Or devotion, is an essential feature of yoga. You expressed devotion and love . It does not refer to any God universal energy. The thought was to move the yogi, towards spiritual awakening.
  3. Karma Yoga
  Karma Means Duty in Sanskrit. Of the highest significance, the significance of doing Karma or ones obligation, was in the Hindu faith. All duties and activities had to be performed with reverence. It is supposedly the most effective way to advancement in life.
  It Is the form of yoga done by way of practice of yoga asana and meditation, pranayama, chanting mantra. It's called the yoga of awakening. One becomes much more aware of the and conscious of oneself. It focuses to others and recovery of the human body, mind and soul.
  5. Hatha Yoga
  It is a system of Bodily techniques supplementary to a conception of yoga. A belief is that Lord Shiva himself was the creator of Hatha Yoga.
  This Faculty of yoga is what deals with asana and exercise or postures. Hatha yoga is known as a physical exercise in the world.
  Benefits of Yoga
  Yoga Has advantages, is something which is common understanding. But the power of yoga is observed on the other and mental features of human life.
  Following are some of the significant advantages of yoga.
  • Perfects your posture
  Yoga Helps make you walk taller and stand up straighter. The whole slumped shoulder issue goes off. In addition, it makes you seem graceful and toned.
  • Control of feelings
  Yoga aids the Helps you control your own emotions. Frequently, an excess of some other negative emotion or anger, gets geared towards the wrong person. This happens when we can't actually control emotions and our thoughts. Yoga makes us patient and helps to control our mind.
  • Makes you more joyful
  Practising Yoga, pranayama or even simple breathing exercises, helps pump more endorphins and dopamine . These are a few hormones that make you feel happier. The more yoga you practice, the higher your chances of feeling uplifted and happy.
  • Helps you focus
  Whenever You end up incapable of focusing, try practicing meditation and yoga. Meditation makes you concentrate and brings to you an observation power.
  • Improves Balance
  What Yogasanas do chiefly, is that they guide the energy in a given direction of your body. Practicing yoga and doing the postures, helps direct more energy into different directions. This helps improve your balance.
  • Relaxes muscles
  If you are someone Prone to muscle strain or pulling of muscles (hamstring, shoulder, etc.) then yoga might help make your body hydrated. Your flexibility improves and you can do activities.
  There Are many more medical benefits. There are few analyzed proofs which can be stated. By way of instance, people suffering from bronchitis and asthma, are told to practice pranayama as it helps to control. These are analyzed facts.
  But There's no evidence to suggest that Yoga can heal terminal diseases or function as a pain reliever. So we must get the facts.
  Another point to Keep in Mind is that Yoga, Should only be performed, after attaining a few training from a yoga guru or instructor. This is because we may attempt to do some postures if they aren't done and wind up causing serious injuries.
