SBRC Survey for Teachers

After discussion with the UESF Elementary Committee, SFUSD has put together a Task Force to review and provide guidance on revisions to the TK-5 Standards Based Report Cards.  The Task Force has defined the purpose of the SFUSD K-5 SBRC as follows: to provide a concise and periodic tool for communication among teachers, families and students that includes comprehensible information about a child’s social emotional development, academic development and unique assets.  In an effort to make this tool useful to teachers and families while serving the above purpose, feedback from both groups is essential.  Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your experience with the SBRCs.

No It originated as long as 10,000 to 5000 decades back. It has gone evolution and was handed down orally. The first reference to Yoga was found when archeological excavations were made from the Indus valley - an powerful and powerful civilization in the early period that was classic. This civilization developed around the Sarasvati river that was long gone and the Indus river in India and'd sewer systems as early as 2,600 BC.
While many religions continue To wish to create yoga their production, it belongs to all of us. It has several facets that is seen from the Hindu and Buddhist religion, but the basic principals are universal and based on"the eight limbs of yoga", which are available in all religions.
The History of Yoga is described as four phases:
Vedic Post Classical Period, Pre-Classical Period, Classical Period, Period and the Modern Stage
  History of Yoga
Yoga Is said to be as old as civilization itself but the practice's oral transmission, has left gaps in its history. Earliest archeological evidence relating to the existence of yoga is found excavated from the Indus valley, depicting a figure seated in a conventional yoga pose. The stone seals put Yoga's presence around 3000 B.C.
  The Vedic Period
The next Reference to yoga is found in the Rig Veda, the earliest text on earth. The Vedas, dating back to 1500 and 1200 BC, are a group of hymns, mantras and brahmanical rituals that praised a being that is larger. Meditation is known to in the book as yoking or discipline without any mention of a procedure or a clinic to achieve this discipline. The Atharva Veda also mentions yoga to restraining the breath using a reference.
  Pre-Classical Period
The Introduction of the Upanishads, The term Upanishad intends to sit implies that the only way a student could learn the truths was sitting near.
https://yoga-world.org  summarized a six-fold route to liberation. Patanjali's Yoga Sutra was to mirror these avenues with a few additions and elucidation.
Two yoga disciplines Gained prominence now: karma yoga (path of ritual or action ) and jnana yoga (path of study or knowledge of the scriptures). Both avenues resulted in liberation or enlightenment. The Bhagavad-Gita, written around 500 BC afterwards added the bhakti yoga (the path of devotion) for this route.
It was at the time of the Upanishads the Notion of Ritual sacrifice became the idea of sacrifice of the self through wisdom, action and self-knowledge and was internalized. This remains an important part of yoga's philosophy today. Much like the Vedas, the Upanishads comprised no matter what we would term as yoga asana practice. The first and most important demonstration of yoga arrived in the next phase.
  Classical Period
Written some Time Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, in the second century produced a landmark defining what's currently called the Classical Period. This set of 195 sutras (aphorisms) is regarded as the first systematic presentation of yoga, also Patanjali is revered as the father of yoga.
Patanjali described yoga's route (ashtanga yoga), which described a practical treatise on living and laid out a route for attaining harmony of the mind, soul and body. Strict adherence to that would lead one to enlightenment. But contemporary yoga sees the need to learn the eight limbs in succession the sutras still function as a guideline for living in the world.
  Post-Classical Period
It Was in this period that the belief of this human body as a temple was revived and yogis made a practice to rejuvenate the body and to prolong life. It was necessary to escape from reality; instead the focus was more alive in the moment and about the correct path. The quest of the spiritual and the physical halves and the necessity to harmonize body, the mind and soul led to the production of Tantra yoga, to Hatha yoga at the tenth or ninth century, and to cleanse the entire body and brain.
  Contemporary Stage
Yoga in its current avatar owes lots of To heard gurus who researched and generated schools of yoga, or traveled west to spread the benefits of yoga. Back in 1893 Swami Vivekanada addressed the Parliament of World Religions in Chicago and spoke about Raja yoga. Swami Sivanada wrote a few books and introduced the five fundamentals of yoga. J.Krishnamurti, the Indian philosopher, affected tens of thousands with his writings and teachings on Jnana yoga.
Daytime yoga's epicenter started in 1931 with Krishnamacharya, Mysore India.
T The Hatha yoga school opened in the 1920s.
Since Then, many yoga gurus are becoming pioneers, finding new fashions in keeping with the times and popularizing yoga. Today there are limitless styles of yoga, all based on components in the different paths of yoga (see: The Paths of Yoga).
Yoga in the Usa has been Concentrated on the Asana facet of the clinic, but a yogi understands There is more to the experience. I advise students to test You and Various styles will find one that provides you the maximum enrichment.
